Biloya Sundried Espresso

DJ picked up a pound of Biloya from Counter Culture so it’s in the hopper today as a guest espresso.  From CC’s tasting notes:

Deep, profoundly sweet notes of blueberry, raspberry, chocolate, and spice highlight this unique single-origin espresso from Biloya. Try 18.5 grams at 200 degrees for a perfect balance of dark chocolate and fruit.

And yes, we’re brewing it at 200 degrees and 18′ish grams.  Delicious.

“Coffee of the Day”

Frick Building customers- not satisfied with the “House Blend” or the “Coffee of the Day?”  Were we sold out by the time you had a chance to make it down to the coffee bar?  Soon we’ll be adding a “fresh by the cup” program to give you more brewed coffee choices.  You’ll be able to have your favorite coffee made to order any time of the day.  No, we didn’t buy another Clover.  Hang in there as we work out a few details… the place is tiny and every little change needs time to be implemented.

Half a Pound of Streamline

We polished off the Vivace Dolce this morning- and now it’s time for the Victrola coffee.

Only half a pound in the hopper to start the day and we’ve got about 8 or so doubles left.

Ethiopia @ Frick Building

Tomorrow morning we’ll be brewing a couple of Ethiopian coffees from Victrola (a Yirgacheffe) and Caffe Vita (Koke) that I picked up in Seattle last week.  We haven’t had an Ethiopian coffee on the menu in some time so it will probably go quickly.

BTW I can’t wait for Intelli’s new Yirgacheffe- it’s going to be the bomb.

Limited Offerings: Hairbender, Dolce, Streamline

Just got back from three days in Seattle- more on that another time…

Today and possibly tomorrow we’ll have shots of Stumptown’s Hairbender from our backup grinder. I picked it up personally this week at the Stumptown on 12th Ave. We only have about half a pound left as I had some this morning and spent some time dialing it in per their specs.

Once the Hairbender is sold out, we’ll be offering Dolce from Espresso Vivace (we have a pound). I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Schomer while in Seattle and it was one of the sweetest tasting shots I’ve EVER had.

Finally, we’ll be pulling shots of Victrola’s Streamline espresso (we have half a pound).

Since I paid retail for these… we’ll have to charge an extra $1.00 per drink. We’re only going to offer these as doubles and only for traditional cappuccino, cortado, etc (6oz or smaller drinks). Get it while it lasts.
