Our Strip District Location Will Close Sunday November 12th

Unfortunately we will be closing our Strip District location at 4pm Sunday November 12th.  We would like to thank all of our loyal customers and employees who have been a part of our business and have supported it since we opened on this street in 2006.

Our intention was to stay here for many years, but the building owner insisted on a substantial (40%) rent increase.  When we expressed concern that we would be unable to sustain our business at that level of rent, the building owner chose to find another local coffee business to take over this space.  This continues to be extremely disappointing to us and it has been a stressful two months as we try to figure out our next steps on such short notice.

A lot of you have asked if we have found a new location so that we could move.  We do have our eyes on another opportunity, but since we have not yet signed a lease we cannot give details at this time.  We can say however that our new location will not be in the Strip District.

Many of you are also customers of our Downtown Pittsburgh location at 225 Fifth Ave (3 PNC Plaza around the corner from PNC bank).  We hope to see you there Monday through Friday 7a-4:30p, and when we are able to announce our new location we’ll do so on our website and on social media.

Thanks again for your support over the years, and if you would like to get in touch please email us at info@21streetcoffee.com.

Yours in coffee,

Luke & Alexis Shaffer
