Next Sunday from 4-6pm we are hosting our first Coffee Brewing/Tasting Event of 2010. What we do is cover several different methods of preparing coffee at home, as well as discuss ways to adjust your techniques and enjoy your coffee more. This time we’ll prepare one coffee, five different ways:
- Automatic Drip (Technivorm Moccamaster)
- Press Pot aka French Press
- Chemex (Pourover)
- v60 Dripper (Pourover)
- Vacuum Pot aka Syphon
We will also cover the use of manual and motorized grinders, water kettles, and other coffee preparation tools. Each brewing method produces unique characteristics in the cup. Some require more “work” than others, but when used properly all should be delicious. Unlike a coffee “cupping”, you will actually get to drink coffee in the class- as much as you want! All participants get a 12oz bag of beans as well as $10 off their merchandise purchase (same day only). The cost of the class is $30, but with the merchandise credit, beans for home, and the coffee you drink at the event… the two hour class is essentially free.
