21 street coffee dot com

You may have noticed a redesign of our website (if you haven’t I’m telling you now). This was done for more than just the sake of making things prettier. Most changes were made to make it user friendly, and to get the right information in the right place at the right time. The “old” blog-only format wasn’t getting it done in many ways (and it didn’t look all that great). To be successful, our “web presence” must meet the following criteria:

  • Let Pittsburgh and the coffee drinking people of the world know that we exist!
  • Inform potential customers where we are located, and our hours of operation
  • Keep readers of the blog up to date on the latest happenings with our business
  • Let potential customers view our current and upcoming menu offerings
  • Provide advertising- we don’t advertise in print media
  • Highlight any nice press we’ve received
  • Seamlessly integrate with our web shop
  • Connect to customers via phone, email, RSS feeds, and through social media such as Twitter, Flickr, and Facebook
  • Provide content that is interesting, informative, and hopefully entertaining to the intrawebs of the world
  • Tell people a little about how we ended up doing this for a living!
  • Provide links to other interesting/informative sites

Our main page- featured items and navigation bar...

So here’s what we’ve done.  When you visit 21streetcoffee.com, you’ll now be taken to a front page and not our latest blog post.

Fancy!

There is a feature section where we can display some of the cool things we want to highlight.  Along the top of the page is the navigation bar- which you can use to visit our blog, check out our locations/menu/etc, and also to visit our web shop.  Many of the navigation buttons have drop down options, so we’ll try to organize things logically so everything is easy to find without being cluttered.

Footer- the pulse of 21streetcoffee.com!

Footer- the pulse of 21streetcoffee.com!

On the bottom of every page of our site, you’ll find the footer.

The footer, for now anyway, is the area where you can quickly browse the latest posts and comments, view our post archive, read twitter updates, view flickr photos, or search the site.  The footer stays with you wherever you go.

More to come, hope you enjoy our new site.
