We want to try a new idea, but first some back story:
We get coffee roasted and delivered to our shops twice per week. This, along with efficient inventory management (we do a pretty good job), ensures the coffees we’re serving and the beans you’re taking home are between 2-9 days out of the roaster. Our “retail” bags, the ones we put out on display, roast Mondays and arrive Wednesday (UPS willing). Customers seem to have this figured out and buy them up right away. By the time Monday rolls around our supply’s getting a little low.
Some of our customers only can stop in once per week to pick up beans, and while it’s unfortunate that we don’t always have what you want on hand we hope you understand we do our best to balance the aging of the coffees and customer demand. If we overstocked on coffee- it would get old and taste kind of… meh. Of course you could order coffee directly from our roaster Intelligentsia- they roast to order and you’ll get it delivered straight to your home. By the time you factor in shipping costs, however, it starts getting pricey. We want to get you the coffee you want, when you want it, at the best price we can offer, while it’s still fresh and delicious.
OK now for the idea:
We’re expanding shop.21streetcoffee.com to allow you to order and RESERVE your coffee and tea online, using your credit card. The idea is that you pay online (the same price we charge in the store meaning it includes 7% sales tax), but pick up in the store. Never miss out on your favorite coffee or tea again!
