The standard Black Cat we've been getting seems to be in constant motion- always improving in subtle ways. Not too long ago there was some of their rwandan coffee (zirikana) in there with the usual brazil but when that went out of season maybe a month ago they moved to the current all-brazil blend and it's been fabulous. As a result of their work in Brazil we've had this really amazing brewed coffee called Fazenda do Sertao. Back to espresso... they've also started doing single origins of select coffees. So far we've had El Salvador, Bolivia, and I hear that Panama is next. All have been delicious and have featured a nice snappy brightness that is a great second option to the heaviness of the brazils. Thanks for reading- you have a great site and I enjoy reading it.

Hey -
Nice article! I didn't realize that Black Cat was a SINGLE ORIGIN. maybe this is something new??? I am definitely going to try this coffee again. When I had it at SCAA (Long Beach 2007) it was amazing--in fact the only great coffee there (although it is hard to brew at a trade show, not to say anything about the other coffee there).
