Just got back from three days in Seattle- more on that another time…
Today and possibly tomorrow we’ll have shots of Stumptown’s Hairbender from our backup grinder. I picked it up personally this week at the Stumptown on 12th Ave. We only have about half a pound left as I had some this morning and spent some time dialing it in per their specs.
Once the Hairbender is sold out, we’ll be offering Dolce from Espresso Vivace (we have a pound). I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Schomer while in Seattle and it was one of the sweetest tasting shots I’ve EVER had.
Finally, we’ll be pulling shots of Victrola’s Streamline espresso (we have half a pound).
Since I paid retail for these… we’ll have to charge an extra $1.00 per drink. We’re only going to offer these as doubles and only for traditional cappuccino, cortado, etc (6oz or smaller drinks). Get it while it lasts.
Well done on the coffee acquisitions. Those are from The Top 3 roasters in the area, in my opinion. But next time you are up here in Seattle, try Lighthouse Roasters and Café Vita coffee. They also roast an impressive variety of coffees.
I tried both actually- Lighthouse was my first stop and I hit up Vita after I was at Victrola. Lighthouse was one of my favorites- their espresso was so sweet. Good stuff.
We’ve been wondering when you were going to get around to doing guest espressos with that twin PID’d double boiler of yours.

Hope you find a bigger market for doing a guest spro program down there in the Strip than we’ve had in the ‘burbs. Then again, hard to complain when there’s been more for us behind the bar to enjoy.

Any hairbender left? Im going to cut out of work early tomorrow, and stop in.
Rich- I don’t think it will be a regular thing, but I wanted to try these coffees myself and since I can’t drink them all while they’re fresh I thought I’d share the wealth. We’ll probably be onto the Dolce by this afternoon.
Kevin- There should be a little left this morning, but I can’t say if we’ll have it all day or not.
My glorious plans to leave work early, gulp down a delicious dolce, and take in this lovely weather transformed into: my car crapping out, and being stuck in a musty gas station…what a pisser
Hairbender sold out this morning, and I’m probably about 1/3 of the way through the Dolce- it’ll probably be gone tomorrow. If you order it please be extra patient as we have to crank the boiler temp up above where we brew Black Cat due to the fact that the roast is so light.
